Dan Mahar, TSFC Founder:
Dan has always nurtured a passion for fitness; working in gyms and maintaining CPR certification throughout high school and college, eventually becoming a personal trainer – the first step in turning his passion into a profession.
When a senior client suffered a Transient Ischemic Attack (mini stroke) during training, Dan felt motivated to go back school to become an American Council of Exercise (ACE) Senior Fitness Specialist (SFS). The SFS is an intense program that takes a holistic approach to health and fitness, combining rapport-building, behavior change, motivation and adherence with nutrition and training modifications to help seniors live a fit and healthy lifestyle.
Dan began to focus on training seniors over the age of 62 who wanted to remain active and prevent injuries through low intensity interval training. Additional certification as an ACE Urban Kick Cardio Kickboxing Instructor allowed him to mix various training approaches depending on client needs and to apply his broad range of knowledge to launch The Senior Fitness Center (TSFC) – a virtual studio to help seniors on the path to longevity.
Dan is extremely knowledgeable, always professional, and very attentive to my particular needs and capacities. He is caring and kind. Given my age of 82, the fact that he has earned certification as a Senior Fitness Specialist is an important factor to me and is a hallmark of his dedication to his profession.

Dan. He helps keep me focused on correct form with exercises I’m accustomed to, while introducing me to different ways of targeting key muscle groups. The sessions are rigorous, but Dan’s goal is to help you do your best without pushing you past the limits of your strength and abilities.
